Hot stone therapy sessions are performed in a quiet and peaceful environment that helps promote the feeling of calm and relaxation. The dark stones are heated in water. Therapy for the face begins with a light application of essential oil on the stones as we don't want to clog pores with too much oil on the face.
Four small stones are individually placed so that one is under your lips, one is on each of your cheeks, and another is on your forehead. The therapy will be for 30 minutes. The heated stones diffuse heat and help the aromatic essential oils penetrate deeper into your skin. It promotes the immediate release of tension in your facial muscles. The stones take the place of fingers in massaging your face. Falling asleep is a typical response to hot stone therapy.
